Civil Rights Lawsuit Settled; Donation to Bread for the City

I’m pleased to announce that the District of Columbia settled Mr. Coley’s case.

Mr. Coley and I agreed that the money raised for him by strangers through the GoFundMe Campaign should be paid forward. I consequently made a donation on our behalf in the total amount of money raised by the GoFundMe contributors to Bread for the City.

Bread for the City is a front-line, non-profit organization in Washington, DC that serves Washington DC’s poor. They provide food, clothing, medical care, legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. This is an amazing organization with an innovative and responsive approach to helping people in need particularly during the global Covid-19 pandemic. Any interested should contact them about volunteer opportunities or other ways to support their incredible mission.

On December 13, 2021, Jonathan Gitlen made a donation on behalf of the Law Office of Jonathan K. Gitlen PLLC and Mr. Coley in the full amount of money raised for Mr. Coley’s benefit from the GoFundMe Campaign. This is the acknowledgement letter from Bread for the City.
